Small ball poker is a 'theoretically' incorrect version of poker. It appears to be an 'adaptation' of the principles of the game based on the fact that the vast majority of players play too 'loosely.' In general, small-ball poker is a style of play for tournament poker that allows you to protect your stack at all times while continually looking for ways to win pots from your opponents with the minimum of risk. Small Ball is a poker strategy, usually applied to tournaments, which involves keeping pots small and frequently calling instead of raising, in order to avoid potentially getting eliminated. For example, if playing a small-ball strategy, you might call vs a 4-bet (instead of 5-betting) with a hand like AK, in order to avoid an all-in coin-flip. A lot of people are not familiar with the term small ball poker, but it’s getting more and more attention.Small ball poker is a style of play used in Texas Hold’em where you don’t limit yourself to premium starting hands and play a wider range of starting hands without investing too much in the pot to begin with.
